museum visual
client: children’s museum
process: collaborating with the museum’s educational goals, I developed concept sketches to translate soil as a layered, living system into a clear visual story for children. I refined composition and object placement for large-scale viewing and created natural textures and depth with aquarelle pencils, keeping exhibit fabrication in mind.
solution: I produced a detailed soil cross-section showing layers of earth with both organic and man-made elements, illustrating how surface objects become embedded over time. the artwork functioned as both an educational illustration and a build reference.
outcome: the illustration became the blueprint for a full-scale, walk-up exhibit — a human-height soil slice that lets children explore what lies beneath the ground. the result turned a complex environmental concept into an engaging, hands-on learning experience.
