american wolf den

client: movie director

process: working from the script’s environmental needs and staging requirements, I translated the director’s vision into a clear visual plan. Drawing on my background in film and prop design, I mapped both the exterior environment and the hidden interior structure so the set could be built accurately and function on camera.

solution: I created a detailed cutaway prop rendering of a wolf den, showing both the outer woodland setting and the internal tunnel system. The exterior illustrated natural surface elements — rocks, soil, and tree trunks — while the interior cutaway revealed earth layers and the tunnel path leading from the entrance to the natal chamber. The illustration balanced realism with clarity so construction details were easy to understand.

outcome: the rendering gave the director and crew a practical blueprint for set construction, helping them visualize scale, layout and materials before build-out. it streamlined communication, reduced guesswork and supported efficient set fabrication for filming. my experience in film, video and television prop design ensured the concept was both visually believable and production-ready.
